Flu season in the US usually peaks between December and February. Health agencies recommend a yearly flu vaccine for most people aged six months and older.

Where to go:

  • Pharmacies, often walk-in or online booking

  • Campus health centers
  • Workplace flu clinics
  • Community health centers and local health departments

Cost:

Under ACA rules, most plans cover recommended vaccines without a copay at in-network locations. Without insurance, local health departments and community clinics often offer low-cost shots.
