Most new F-1 and J-1 students and exchange visitors must pay the SEVIS I-901 fee before their visa interview. It funds the system that tracks your student status.

The fee for F-1 and M-1 students is $350. J-1 fees depend on the exchange program category. Check the official site for current amounts.

  1. Get your I-20 or DS-2019 from your school or program
  2. Go to the official site, FMJfee.com
  3. Enter your SEVIS ID and details exactly as on your form
  4. Pay by card or other listed method
  5. Print the payment confirmation
